Railway vacuum brake hose
Railway vacuum brake hose used in the braking systems of railway locomotives and rolling stock. This vacuum hose use in compressed-air braking systems operated at pressures up to a maximum of 11.5 bar and within the temperature range -25°C to +65°C . Vacuum breaking systems operated at a vacuum up to 990 mbar and within the temperature range -25°C to +65°C .
Railway vacuum brake hose is mainly composed of :
a) An internal wire spiral.
b) An inner ply of fabric. This shall extend not more than 10.0 mm beyond the end of the internal wire.
c) A rubber lining throughout the length of the hose.
d) A ply of impregnated fabric throughout the length of the hose.
e) Fabric reinforcement extending for approximately 125 mm from each end.
f) A fabric cover over the whole length of the hose.
The lining shall be uniform, reasonably concentric,free from air holes, porosity and other defects. The thickness shall be not less than 3.2 mm.
The inside surface of the rubber at the ends of the hose shall readily conform to the nipples of the couplings or pipe ends.
The hose shall be consolidated and shall be uniformly vulcanized.

Tensile strength : ≥14 MN/m² , break elongation : ≥500%
Adhesion : 67 N, shall not separate at a rate of more than 25 mm/mim
Ageing resistance : aged for 168H at a temperature of 70±1°C,shall show results which do not vary by more than 20% from the unaged values.
Vacuum retention: 170 mbar, and the hose shall not shorten by more than 5% in that period.
Non-kinking: When do strength and flexibility testing, the hose should be parallel, without permanently distorting or displacing the wire.
